A FOND FAREWELL TO THE CLASS OF 2018

The graduating Class of 2018 danced an emotional final performance at the School on Friday 13 July. The students displayed great versatility, technical aptitude and creativity in a mixed bill that included pieces by guest choreographers Ashley Page, Wayne Parsons and Theo Clinkard, classical ballet rep and original student choreography. This was followed by the unofficial graduation ceremony, a Rambert School tradition that features a prize-giving for staff and students and is always a bit of a tear-jerker!

This final performance followed a run of sell-out shows at The Place, Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells and at the School, which also featured first and second year students. We were delighted to receive some excellent audience feedback, including:

“It was a genuine privilege to be invited to the performance. Thank you for letting me share in a great experience and well done to everyone involved in delivering a fabulously diverse, engaging and high quality programme. The evening was so rich

in talent; I left the venue with real excitement about the quality of artist that the Rambert School is generating for the industry. “

Pam Johnson, Senior Relationship Manager, Arts Council England

“That was a spectacularly good performance yesterday – thank you so much for inviting us, we enjoyed it so much. Please pass on our congratulations to all the students, everyone a star. In fact I see a great future for the banana song, I’d love to have them perform it for me!”

Catherine Parry-Wingfield, Chairman, Turner’s House Trust

“Coming back after 13 years since I graduated I was proud to see the Rambert School’s performance. Full of personality, passion, power and that bold fearless desire to perform.”
