Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, validated by the University of Kent, is seeking to appoint an Undergraduate External Examiner commencing November 2024
The vacancy is for the Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) top-up in Ballet & Contemporary Dance.
The External Examiner should have a background in dance (preferably Ballet and Contemporary dance practices), as well as extensive experience of the dance profession along with an understanding of conservatoire level training and dance in Higher Education. Applicants should be educated to Honours level and have experience of external examining in at least one other HE institution with a strong insight into the academic/research side of dance, including but not limited to demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the relevant sector reference points (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications, Subject Benchmark Statements, Characteristics Statements) for the maintenance of academic standards and assurance and enhancement of quality.

Rambert School’s training has for many years enabled graduates to enjoy highly successful careers as dance artists and as choreographers. The School entered the Higher Education (HE) sector in 2005, and the Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) courses in Ballet and Contemporary Dance are validated by the University of Kent. Rambert School is now independently registered with the Office for Students as a Higher Education Provider.

We currently seek an organised, enthusiastic, proactive, administrator to provide critical office management and receptionist duties. This crucial role also provides administrative assistance to all departments of the School, as required. The post holder therefore plays a truly integral part in the day-to-day life of the School. This role is a job-share, with the successful candidate being required to work 2 days a week (Monday and Tuesday).
