For one day only, we open up Rambert School to the public and offer a sneak-peek into the inner workings of one of the UK’s oldest professional dance schools. Join us for free classes, shows and tours. Visit this page again soon for a full schedule.
Please note, this Open House is not designed for those interested in the FD/BA Degree. Although everyone is welcome, we will not be providing specific information regarding the full-time course. If you’d like to book a tour during term-time, please contact us.
There is no need to register in advance. However, there are limited places for the taster classes and shows and we will be offering these on a first-come-first-serve basis.
TASTER CLASSES on offer:
Totsdance (2.5-4 years): Movement and music is combined in this class to encourage independence and develop motor skills and coordination in a playful and fun environment. For parent(s)/carer(s) and child.
Prime Movers (4-6 years): This class introduces basic rhythm, coordination and motor skills and encourages independence and confidence in a playful and fun environment.
Second Striders (6-9 years): This class develops basic rhythm, coordination and motor skills and begins to introduce creative expression.
Movers & Shakers (9-11 years): This class builds on fundamental rhythm and coordination skills and encourages confidence in creative expression and performance. Emphasis is places on creativity and dancers have many opportunities to make their own movements.
Apollo (11-13 years): This class explores contemporary technique in a relaxed and fun environment. The fundamentals of the technique are studied to develop quality of movement and creative expression.
Meret (13-15 years): This class explores contemporary technique and encourages skills in coordination, musicality and creative expression.
Yoga (18+): This class combines Vinyasa and Hatha styles of yoga for a dynamic, flowing class that will leave you feeling balanced and energised.
