8th December 2022
Today’s Rambert School spotlight is alumni, Charlotte Edmonds.
Charlotte is a dance artist and choreographer, who has created work for a range of companies and organisations internationally including The Royal Ballet, Sotheby’s Auction House, Riff Raff, Nike, BBC Arts, Dutch National Ballet Junior Company, Rambert School, The Royal Ballet School, Royal Academy of Dance, Estudios Victor Cordon, Yorke Dance Project, Studio Wayne McGregor, Norwegian National Ballet and Bayerisches Staatsballett. Her latest project Goldfish starring Rambert Company Dancer, Ashwarya Raut, is currently showing on Nowness.
In 2020, she co-founded Move Beyond Words CIC, which is a company that amplifies the voices of neurodivergent artists. We are excited to announce that Charlotte will be working with Rambert School to conduct research around supporting neurodivergent dancers within a studio setting. Move Beyond Words is expanding on research surrounding the prevalence of dyslexia amongst performers and creating strategies to support individuals to combat the challenges they face within stressful environments. Charlotte is incredibly passionate about supporting all individuals within the art’s industry and so we’re excited to welcome her back Rambert School in the upcoming months.
Upon reflecting on her time as a student at Rambert School, Charlotte said “From the outset, Rambert School launched me into a process of discovery regarding my development to train and learn from a range of different contemporary styles of dance, furthering my knowledge of the industry and facilitating my development of the physical skill sets required to influence and embrace the role of a choreographer and dance artist.”
