Jenny ReesMA Dance Research for Professional Practioners Student

Jenny is a graduate of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (2002) and has undertaken further training at The Limon School and Merce Cunningham studios in New York. Her performance experience includes work by choreographers such as Lea Anderson, Itzik Gallili and Gary Clarke. A founder member of Liverpool based dance company, taciturn, she has choreographed and performed with the company since 2006. Jenny currently works part time as a lecturer at LIPA Sixth Form College, teaching contemporary dance and performance modules. Her main area of research enquiry examines and questions the importance of the dancer’s individual identity or “sense of self” in performance, looking at philosophical concepts of self and embodied philosophy in dance.
