Becki ParkerMA Dance Research for Professional Practitioners Second Year Student

Becki is a neurodivergent dance artist and leadership coach. Becki graduated from Teesside University with BA Dance in 2016. She went on to dance professionally and teach dance to people with a learning disability and autistic people. Becki performed in places such as Stockton international riverside festival and Fira Tarraga.

Becki completed an inclusive dance training course with Para dance in 2021. As a disabled dance artist Becki began to use her past experiences in the dance industry in relation to access and acceptance. Becki is keen to deepen her knowledge and understanding of inclusive dance today and how the quality of governance can impact this.

Beckis research focus is the lived experience in dance of people who are autistic, inclusive governance in the dance sector and the impact it has in relation to equality, equity, access and acceptance.
