New Head of Participation, Outreach and Widening Participation: Sean Anthony Selby

Sean studied at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a BA Hons in Performance. He went on to tour with postgraduate company Verve 05 before going on to tour as a principal dancer and rehearsal assistant with 2007 Culture award-winning Sakoba Dance Theatre. He has had an extensive career performing on the West End, touring internationally within dance, and dancing for recording artists including Sophie Ellis Bextor and Elton John and for TV and film projects.

As well as choreographing musicals and dance works, Sean has a vast reputation within youth dance. He has led and produced many dance pieces for youth dance, including Boys DiME, and has successfully led dance departments for secondary and FE education, as well as teaching as a freelance artist in universities all over the UK.

Sean is proud to be part of the governing body of award-winning dance organisation Yorkshire Dance and on the dance teacher’s advocacy panel for One Dance Uk.
