Meditation for dancers

Evaluating the effectiveness of personal meditation practice amongst dance students in a conservatoire context.

This project is a collaboration with dance artist and meditation practitioner Livia Massarelli, and is conducted with Rambert Year 2 students and the Head of Studies, Phaedra Petsilas.

In this project, a personal meditation practice intervention is proposed as a tool to help reduce perceived stress and achieve mindfulness. The purpose of the research is to explore the effects of a personal meditation practice on dancers’ perceived stress and the role that mindfulness might play in alleviating any stress that is experienced and also enhance well-being.

This is a current project and reflections and outputs will be shared shortly.
