Performing plays a key part in the students’ experience and there are regular student choreographic platforms, where students of all years can showcase their original works in the theatre or online.
In addition newly commissioned works and re-staged repertory are performed each year, both in the School’s own Anya Linden Studio Theatre and at external venues such as the Linbury Studio at London’s Royal Opera House and the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells.
Whilst 2020 saw many performance plans postponed we were overwhelmed by the creativity and resilience of students as they created and filmed work for our Digital Platform performances, streamed in May and December last year.
Over 50 newly created short dance films were created by students and filmed either from their homes across the globe in May or on location when restrictions allowed later in the year.
A selection of past performance highlights are available to watch below:

It is a celebration of the energy and talent of these young people who worked wonderfully for me and at great speed to drive me on to make more and more steps! The music provides layers of crisp rhythm on which the dancers ride high’ Richard Alston CBE
