In 2019 we hosted a unique occasion to discover one of London’s secret venues, the home of Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
Rambert School was delighted to part of Open House London which will offer free access to Clifton Lodge (Grade II listed), the last remnant of St Margarets House and the Violet Needham Chapel (a building of Townscape Merit).
Visitors were offered a tour of the buildings and an insight into the history of the site and the world-leading Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance which celebrates 100 years of dance excellence.
The free performance offered an insight into the immersive degree level training in ballet and contemporary dance at Rambert School which is renowned for producing passionate, expressive dancers and innovative choreographers.
Each performance was followed by a talk by Jane Pritchard, Curator of Dance, Victoria and Albert Museum on the rich history of Rambert and Rambert School. To find out more about Clifton Lodge click here.
Please note this is part of the Open House scheme celebrating architecture and history and is not an open day for the degree course.
