Fresh Friday with Michael Joseph

This week’s Fresh Friday welcomes Michael Joseph. Each Friday our second and third year students experience the styles of a new teacher, a guest artist from a leading dance company or a practicing professional from the wider arts industry. Michael Joseph is a versatile dance practitioner with 34 years experience as an educator, community artist, dancer, choreographer, film maker and most recently scholar as he attained his MA in 2020.

Michael prides himself in encouraging excellence from his students through differentiating the needs of everyone individually. He is passionate about promoting and encouraging dance for all and most specifically inspiring young men and boys in dance. Michael says ‘As a male of colour I can relate to their experience in both education and dance’.

The workshop will focus on a fusion of different dance styles using the theme of ‘Threading’ taken from Hip Hop breaking. It is delightful to welcome Michael back to Rambert School where he completed his training in 1985. We are excited to see what knowledge and experience he will impart on our second and third years.
