Fresh Friday with Jenny Hayes, and Ihsaan De Banya

Our Fresh Friday workshop this week is with Jenny Hayes, joined by Ihsaan De Banya. During the session students will experience the compositional element of an audition, then evaluate the process and their performance afterwards. The first half of the workshop is mimicked as a real phase of an audition, where you have already passed the technique class and are through to the next stage.  There will be a short improvised warm up, lead by Ihsaan De Banya, which leads into movement tasks and explorations. Students will eventually perform your movement in smaller groups before the audition comes to a close.

In the second half of the workshop, Jenny, Ihsaan, and the dancers will debrief and evaluate the audition experience individually as well as a group.  These reflections will be used to generate discussions as well as explore tools that support common audition feelings that can block our presence and performance in those environments.
