Fresh Friday with Jack Philp
7th October 2022
Today we welcome Jack Philp to Rambert School to teach our Fresh Friday workshop.
Critically distinguished choreographer Jack Philp works nationally and internationally as a choreographer, director and freelance dance artist. Jack has created commissioned work for several companies and universities as well as toured productions across the UK as the Artistic Director of his independent collective Jack Philp Dance. With a fascination for dance, science and digital technology; Jack is interested in work that is physically dynamic, collaborative and that speaks of the world today. Jack is an experienced facilitator; working across a range of contexts; and joined National Dance Company Wales in 2022 to lead the company as their interim rehearsal director before becoming their new Engagement Artist this summer.
Jack also joined the Clore Leadership programme this year as one of their emerging leaders and is excited to share his practice with the students at Rambert School. Jack explains that “Dancers can expect to be lead into the world of the latest creation for his collective; “Into the Novacene”, and move in a way which celebrates articulation, bounce, curiosity and the moving body.”
