Fresh Friday with Julian Nichols, Bodies in Action
18th November 2022

The last but by no means least Fresh Friday of the Autumn Term is here. Today we are excited to welcome Julian Nichols founder of nonprofit Bodies in Action to lead our second and third year students in a workshop. Fresh Friday gives our second and third year students a boost to their usual curriculum by introducing them to external dance artists.
Julian is a native of Toronto, Ontario. In 2017, Julian graduated Cum Laude with a B.F.A from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, SUNY. Julian has performed works by internationally recognised choreographers including Aszure Barton, Tom Weinberger, Jose Limón, Brian Brooks, Kyle Abraham, Darryl Tracy, Allen Kaeja, Rosalind Newman, Emily Molnar, Alexander Whitley, Carol Anderson, Fanny Ghoreyab, Hanna Kiel, Maxine Doyle, and Roy Assaf. Julian has been a company member with Nimbus Dance Works, a guest artist with The Limón company, and has danced for Hanna Kiel’s Human Body Expression. Currently residing in London, Julian has recently founded his own nonprofit Bodies in Action ~ enGendering Contemporary Dance, which strives to represent all gender identities equally in dance.
We are excited to see what our students work on together with Julian. If you are also interested in watching this workshop, or perhaps the entire terms’ worth of workshops, please follow us on Instagram or TikTok. Every week we post a video showcasing what our students have created with each dance artist. Come join our digital scrapbook and follow us here: Instagram or Tiktok.
