BBC Young Dancer Finals 2022

A week after the extraordinary BBC Young Dancer 2022 Grand Final, we caught up with Principal, Amanda Britton, about her thoughts on the competition, and of course, our four fantastic finalists, who throughout their journey demonstrated the utmost dedication to their craft, and highlighted the outstanding and versatile training they receive at Rambert School.

Amanda shared “We are enormously proud of Anna, Robert, Elisabeth and Hannah. All of them performed with such energy and passion. They were a huge credit to themselves and to the School.”

She said that the students, who danced solos, duets, trios and group pieces at the Camden Roundhouse, “really enjoyed the experience of collaborating with dancers from very different dance backgrounds, and they were really nurtured throughout the whole process.”

We would like to thank the BBC, all of the choreographers, mentors and judges, for supporting, enriching and inspiring these four incredible artists, week on week, and for giving them the most unforgettable experiences, that Amanda described as “such a wonderful celebration of dance.”

So without further ado, congratulations to Anna Daly and Hannah Joseph on their exquisite performances, with a special mention to Robert Dunkley-Gyimah who received the Collaboration Award, and Elisabeth Mulenga who was presented with the prize for Choreographic Innovation.

If you missed the final, you can catch it on BBC iPlayer here.
