Born in South Africa, Elizel trained under Marlene Rubidge in the Classical Cecchetti Ballet technique from the age of three years old. In 2006, Elizel was awarded the Linbury Scholarship to attend Rambert School where she graduated 3 years later with a first class BA (Hons) Degree. In 2009, she was chosen to dance Itzik Galili’s A Linha Curva with Rambert Dance Company, and subsequently joined the Company as an apprentice dancer. During her time with the Rambert Dance Company, Elizel worked with choreographers such as Mark Baldwin, Itzik Galili, Henrietta Horn, Tim Rushton, Aletta Collins and Dane Hurst. She has also performed works by Merce Cunningham and Paul Taylor. Elizel has recently moved to the USA where she works closely with choreographer Gillmer Duran. Elizel is also a certified STOTT PILATES instructor and works part time with a Pilates Studio in Anchorage, Alaska.
